Yields: 4 Servings
Instructions:

Ingredients:

2 bananas (somewhat ripe, but not too much)
1⁄2 cup flour
2 tablespoons rice flour
1 tablespoon Sugar (organic pure cane sugar if possible)
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
3⁄4 cups Water
1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric
  pure maple syrup (to taste)
  Powdered sugar (to taste)
peanut oil (peanut or canola oil)

Steps:

Peel and slice the ripe bananas. Cut them into about 2 inch long pieces or whatever you’d prefer.
Combine the flour, rice flour, sugar, salt, and water. Mix! Add the turmeric and mix some more. The batter should now be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Dip the sliced bananas into the batter.
Heat the oil in a pan, and make sure the oil is really hot but not smoking. Use a neutral oil with a high smoking point, such as peanut or canola. Use a big pot or deep pan for deep-frying, and fry in batches if needed so the food doesn’t stick together.
Deep fry the bananas until golden brown.
Drain off the excess oil with a cooling rack, paper towels or flattened paper bags.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve with pure maple syrup. Vegan whipped cream is good here too! Bon appétit!

I'm Scott, and I started this site with the intention of creating a central hang out for veg*ns, and as a resource for anybody interested in learning more about vegetarianism. I believe that compassion towards animals and a plant-based lifestyle can go mainstream, and I'm doing my best to help that happen. When I'm not designing and building websites,I love spending time with my friends and family, cooking (trying to at least), watching movies and binge-watching TV shows, and spending time outside. My favorite eateries in the Seattle area are currently Wayward Vegan Cafe, and the No Bones About It food truck. I'm kind of a music fanatic, if you'd like to see what I'm listening to here's my Last.fm profile: http://www.last.fm/user/nombrecinq
