Food Poisoning & Chicken in the UK
Breaking news: Approximately 72.8% of raw whole chickens sampled by the Foods Standard Agency had skin samples contaminated with campylobacter, a food-poisoning-inducing bacteria that’s responsible for infecting approximately 280,000 people per year, and is potentially deadly. Worse yet, almost 20% of the skin samples contained “high-level” contamination, and this was a study that utilized “4,000 samples of whole raw chickens bought from UK retail outlets and independent stores.”
