Author Tim Zimmermann does a great deal of research and offers up many interviewees that have worked hard to maintain high-levels of due-dillegence for their businesses, only offering up responsibly caught and/or farmed seafood to the public. It’s great news for vegetarians that are primarily concerned about world-welfare, that want to make well-informed decisions when it comes to what ends up on their plate, how it got there, and how it affects the world. My personal favorite quote is:
Zimmermann even dives into how farmed fish are now being fed on a vegan diet, and how fishing methodology is changing to avoid catching sea mammals and turtles by mistake. This is all great, and it’s a step in the right direction for a market where the growing population is forcing a large-scale re-evaluation of diet, farming practices, etc.
