Vegan Quorn Coming to the United States!
You may have been seeing a lot in the news lately about Quorn Foods, a very well known meat-substitute company based in New Yorkshire.
First it was the annoucement that the company had been sold to Monde Nissin of the Philippines for almost $830 million. Soon after, it was confirmed that the first ever vegan Quorn foods would make their debut in UK supermarkets by October of 2015.
Now we have learned that the same vegan Quorn products will officially be available in the US as soon as early 2016! A representative of the company confirmed the news and added that while the products would be vegan (Quorn products now tend to contain eggs and dairy), more details on the variety offered will be available shortly:
“At this time the range has not been finally confirmed it is at the moment 5 products.”
For vegans living in Europe–not just in the UK, the wait will not have to be as long. Most supermarkets that carry Quorn Foods should have the completely vegan options available this month as well.
Quorn’s CEO has stated that the demand for meat alternatives continues to be high, with their company growing 30 percent every year in the U.S. alone, making it a prime area to bring in more variety. 2016 can’t come soon enough!
