New Mercy For Animals Video Features Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin, Emmy-Award winning actor, is featured in a video for Mercy For Animals, focused on urging Tyson Foods, the world’s largest poultry provider, to implement basic animal welfare standards in their farms.
Mercy For Animals has already created three undercover investigations at Tyson Foods since July, which show chickens at the factory being beaten, kicked around, thrown, and even includes horrific scenes of workers pulling off the heads of chickens and breeding chickens to grow so fast that they cannot even stand up.
In the latest video featuring Baldwin, a compilation was created from all the footage gathered, with the actor doing the voice-over denouncing Tyson Foods, and urging them to incorporate standards that would not allow this type of abuse to take place in their poultry farms or slaughterhouses.
Tyson Foods supplies chicken to companies such as McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Popeye’s, and Chick-fil-A. They are responsible for the death of over 2 billion chickens yearly.
Along with the investigations, a public petition, and their latest video, Mercy For Animals hopes to raise awareness of the treatment of chickens and see changes implemented in the federal Humane Methods of Slaughter Act, as it does not apply to chickens as of yet.
Longtime animal rights activist Baldwin states:
“Tyson has the power and responsibility to end the cruelest forms of animal abuse in its supply chain.”
