First Vegan Ice Cream & Froyo Shop Opens in London!
From Ben & Jerry’s including four vegan flavors to their line to So Delicious adding even more variety to their cashew milk-based ice creams, it seems 2016 will be the summer of vegan ice cream.
Now, there’s even more exciting news for those living in London or those planning to visit. The first ever completely vegan ice cream shop has officially opened in the UK, called Yorica! The shop, which serves ice cream, frozen yogurt, and shakes, is so much more than just vegan ice cream. According to their website:
“All recipes and ingredients are dairy, egg, nut and gluten free and without an animal product in sight. Big treats and big time toppings, like fresh fruit, gummy bears and marshmallows. Health is happiness and it all starts with one mouthful.”
The shop uses rice milk and coconut cream for their frozen treats, and include seaweed, vanilla bean paste, crystalline fructose, xantham gum, and guar gum in place of the common animal-based products that are used.
There are currently 12 flavors available for ice cream, and 6 for frozen yogurt, and all of them can be used to make hot or cold shakes. Some of the flavors include beetroot and dark chocolate, nut-free peanut butter, pumpkin spice, moringa, cookies and cream, chocolate, and much more. Some of the toppings feature vegan oreos, brownies, marshmallows, fresh or dried fruit, coconut shavings, and even sprinkles that are colored with turmeric and red pepper!
Yorica! is located at 130 Wardour Street in London, and if you’re anything like me, you are already planning your visit!
