Wholesome Bakery Opens its Doors in San Francisco!
Wholesome Bakery has been selling its vegan baked goods with with locally produced and organic ingredients throughout the Bay Area since 2009.
Just last weekend, residents of San Francisco experienced a real treat. The bakery, founded by longtime vegan Mandy Harper, opened a physical location right at 3376 18th Street. At the new spot, customers can enjoy the bakery’s notorious items, such as almond tea cakes, banana chocolate scones, and lavender cake doughnuts, as well as special daily lunches that include sweet potato tacos with cilantro-cabbage slaw, and black beans with plantains and greens. According to the website, Wholesome Bakery believes:
“A goodie should taste like a goodie without the worry of it going straight to your gut or your butt! That should be left to feeling lively and satisfied, not sick or sluggish. Our sweet treats aren’t only healthy for you, they’re healthy for Mother Earth! Please enjoy!”
Harper’s dairy, egg, gluten, yeast, soy and transfat-free menu may be expanding beyond San Francisco soon as well. When asked about her future goals, she replied:
“To have Wholesome Bakeries in a few cities: a storefront in SF as well as Austin, Portland and L.A.”
As with all things vegan, the more the merrier! Go Mandy!
