Pure Detroit Unveils New Vegan Bags Made From Recycled Seatbelts!
Pure Detroit, a Michigan-based clothing and apparel company that opened in 1998, has just released its new line of vegan handbags and accessories made from recycled seatbelts! The new line is in collaboration with Harveys, a California-based accessory company.
The line includes many types of purses, wallets, backpacks, coin purses, and more, all made from seatbelts salvaged from the Motor City. The bags also include a 19th century map of downtown Detroit in the lining, designed by Salt Labs to keep the Detroit authenticity present. According to Fox 2 Detroit, where CEO of Pure Detroit Ryan Hooper recently appeared for an interview, the use of recycled seatbelts offer many benefits to consumers:
“Each bag is made in the USA, vegan friendly, made from super durable seatbelt belts and guaranteed for life directly from the manufacturer.”
The prices are definitely in the higher brackets, but the guaranteed lifetime warranty could make up for it! Plus there is a surprising amount of variety in terms of colors and designs that are definitely not what you would expect from recycled seatbelts. You can see the collection right here.
