The Impossible Burger is Hitting Select Restaurants in July!
It’s coming. The most authentic veggie burger to date is coming to restaurants this July and tasters are already raving about its impressive debut. Impossible Foods stirred up curiosity last year when waves of investors, including BIll Gates, raised over $108 million to create its revolutionary plant-based burger. Now, the time is approaching for the public to get a taste of it.
The Impossible burger is unlike any other veggie burger on the market, thanks to its innovative team of researchers perfecting the patty to appease even the most die-hard meat eater. Justine Sterling from Food & Wine wrote:
“It contains coconut oil to simulate beef fat, which is solid until heated. It has potato proteins, which helps it achieve a beautiful crust when seared. And it’s got heme, a compound that gives color to red meat, which the Impossible Foods team extracts from yeast.”
These details and the fact that the burger “bleeds” like a meat-based one do not go unnoticed by foodies with an affinity for fleshy burgers. But what may be most surprising for omnivores to hear is that this veggie patty is responsible for 89 percent less greenhouse gas emissions, 99 percent less land, and 85 percent less water usage than their preferred meat patties.
The arrival of the Impossible burger is expected to take the world by storm and will hit select restaurants in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York this July.
