Silk's "Do Plants" Campaign Features Venus Williams & DJ Khaled! [VIDEO]
Venus Williams, vegan tennis superstar, and DJ Khaled, record label executive who remained vegan after a 22 day challenge, are both featured in Silk’s new campaign that, according to Adweek, has been launched just ahead of the dairy-free milk company’s 20th anniversary.
The two video advertisements are part of Silk’s “Do Plants” campaign, and include the launch of a fresh and updated website. The first ad “Jump”, which runs for 15 seconds and features Williams, shows the tennis star preparing to serve in slow motion with the slogan “Do Plants” on the screen, with a voiceover from Williams stating “Strong is good”, followed by her enjoying Silk’s Very Vanilla Soymilk. You can see the video below:
The second ad “Movement” features DJ Khaled and runs for 30 seconds, introduced by him stating “Special Silk smoothie alert!” and then shows the hip hop producer making an almond milk and banana smoothie with Silk with upbeat background music, changing scenery and with him stating “I do plants” after enjoying two smoothies.
The ads are definitely fun, attractive, appeal to a wider audience and get the message of plant-based living across. Williams stated that being part of this campaign was important for her in order to show the world the benefits of the lifestyle. She stated:
“I believe in the power of plant-based eating, and as an athlete and businesswoman I always need to feel by best. That’s why I’m working with Silk on something I feel passionate about - the amazing things that come when people ‘do plants.'”
The campaign will also include a “Path to Plants” digital series, which will feature more plant-based eaters and their lives.
