New S'mores Girl Scout Cookie is Vegan!
One by one, Girl Scouts cookies are coming on over to the cruelty-free side. The organization announced two new cookies to its 2017 lineup in celebration of their 100th year and National S’mores Day. Both cookies are s’mores-themed and one of them is vegan!
The website describes Girl Scout S’mores cookies made by ABC Bakers:
“Our new crispy graham cookie doubled dipped in yummy creme icing and finished with a scrumptious chocolatey coating (WHOA!) is one more delicous way to support her next adventure!”
The ingredient list does note that the cookies are manufactured on the same equipment that processes products containing egg and dairy (and peanut, for those with allergies) and the controversial use of palm oil may deter some vegans from partaking in the morsels, yet the fact that animal products are omitted from the recipe is newsworthy. Beware the Girl Scout S’mores cookies made by Little Brownie Bakers, as they contain cow’s milk.
Other vegan Girl Scout Cookies include Thin Mints, Lemonades, Thanks-a-lots, and Peanut Butter Patties.
