Nottingham Pub to Introduce All-Vegan Menu!
We’ve happily heard about non-vegan pizzerias, Mexican restaurants and gelato shops transforming their menus to be 100 per cent vegan. Now, a pub in Nottingham, England is following suite by updating their menu–which already included many vegan options–to be completely free of animal-based products!
According to Nottingham Post, The Peacock, located on Mansfield Road, will reopen its doors on September 5 after two weeks of renovations and will debut its revamped plant-based menu. Licensee of the space, Michael Scholes, told the publication that the positive feedback to the news further strengthened his resolve, stating:
“Vegan food has come on leaps and bounds. I eat it a lot with friends. I don’t feel we’re excluding anyone. I am thrilled with the response. I thought ‘am I doing the right thing?’ But this has made me a lot more confident.”
While the initial menu offered vegan options such as Sunday lunch, mushroom and cream cheese tarts, rosemary potatoes and a tofu-based fish and chips meal, customers were asked to chime in with their suggestions for the new dishes. If the updated menu reflects the demands, we can expect to see vegan cheesecake, mac n’ cheese, mushroom burgers, Thai tofu curry, mock duck spring rolls and chocolate fudge cake on the menu!
With the 360 per cent increase in Britain’s vegan population, we have a feeling that The Peacock will be very busy!
