Vegan Chef Chloe Coscarelli's Food Diary Profiled by 'Elite Daily'
On top of all the buzz surrounding vegan restaurant chain by CHLOE., my own visit there last month allowed me experience first-hand what all the fuss was about. After trying the mac n’ cheese, the classic burger, and a chocolate chip cookie, I am already anticipating my return to try out more dishes!
When a vegan chef and cookbook author makes food that tastes that good, it is always interesting to know what their daily eating habits are, and what kind of treats they make specifically for themselves. Elite Daily writer Emily Arata profiled Coscarelli’s food diary from Saturday to Tuesday, which, according to the author, “documented just how tasty vegan food can be.”
What I particularly liked about this feature was that it seemed to be a busy few days for the chef, including a rehearsal dinner and wedding in Boston, meetings with friends, and lots of on-the-go meals. While there were of course many home cooked options, as well as Coscarelli revealing one of her favorite dishes from her restaurant’s menu, the food diary (and photos) really do show how many delicious and interesting options exist when eating out.
Some of the highlights of the food diary include a homemade vegan omelet and frittata, a white bean and spinach cake with purple potatoes, beets and greens at the wedding, a Red Pepper Benedict and Raspberry-Stuffed French Toast courtesy of Veggie Galaxy, vegan gourmet pizza via 00 + Co, and a vegan banana/blueberry ‘nice cream’ for dessert! And what did the chef choose from her own restaurant?
“I followed breakfast with #ohsofancyfries from By Chloe. It’s our secret menu item and one of my favorite things to order.”
So whether it is whipping something quick at home, making a delicious homemade dessert, eating at a restaurant or even at a wedding, Coscarelli’s food diary shows just how delicious, varied and available vegan food really is!
