The Cambridge Satchel Company Now Offers Vegan Bags!
For those who want cruelty-free fashion, the choices are more abundant than ever before. There are so many completely vegan clothing or fashion companies to choose from, including MooShoes and VauteCouture, as well as retailers who offer lines that are completely free of any animal products. With a new collaboration between Britain-based The Cambridge Satchel Company and Brazilian eco-shoe company Melissa, a new line of vegan satchels are now also available.
The founder and CEO of The Cambridge Satchel Company, Julie Deane, stated:
“A collaboration needs two strong partners with unique design elements; taking our timeless shape and mixing it with Melissa’s iconic raw material makes perfect sense. We are also happy that this partnership offers a vegan alternative to our customers. Moreover, the PVC used is recyclable as well as 99% of the factory’s industrial waste is recycled.”
The bags are weather-proof (“from the beaches of Brazil, to a rainy day in Britain”) and come in red, black, and the limited edition holographic. They all have a bubblegum scent, and range from $150 to $200 USD. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has noted the significance of this line, since this is the first time The Cambridge Satchel Company has “created non-leather accessories, which will hopefully usher in a new era of stylish vegan offerings from the company.”
