Texas Officers Give Away Christmas Tofurky Dinners

Before Thanksgiving, the Forth Worth police department handed out turkeys to passersby. PETA got wind of the news and asked if the department would be interested in passing out a more compassionate choice of Tofurky dinners for Christmas. And they said “sure”!
At traffic stops last week, volunteers gave away boxes of Tofurky roasts, gravy, and brownies to locals alongside members of the Fort Worth police department. Police Sgt. Marc Povero said about PETA’s request:
“Always being a department that wants to reach out into our community, we said sure.”
Not only that, but the two teams gathered at Spiral Diner for a plant-based meal. The non-vegans in the group were said to be impressed with the plant-based offerings, saying they were “delicious.” After the festivities, how did Sgt. Povero spend his holiday? Why, with a Christmas Tofurky on the table!
