Vegan Pizza Joint Virtuous Pie Opening in Toronto!
Toronto is definitely becoming a hub for vegan pizza! In addition to major chains like Pizza Pizza, Pizza Nova, and Mamma’s Pizza adding vegan cheese to their menus, there is the very popular all-vegan pizza joint Apiecalypse Now!, which recently added a metal bar to its location.
In January of next year, there will be a new player in town. Virtuous Pizza, a Vancouver-based vegan pizza restaurant and ice cream parlor (that has also set up shop in Portland, Oregon), plans to open a location in Toronto’s Little Italy neighborhood at 611 College Street. While the menu for the Toronto location is not yet set, according to Daily Hive:
“Using Virtuous Pie’s housemade nut cheeses, the joint fires up crowd pleasing pizzas like the popular “Stranger Wings” (Bianca, Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower, Crisp Fried Shallots, Blue Cheese Drizzle, Scallion) and the “Kim-Jack” (Hoisin Crema, Cashew Mozzarella, Kimchi, Gochujang Braised Jackfruit, Roast Broccolini, Scallion). In addition to pizzas, Virtuous Pie makes a slender rotating selection of salads that can work as sides or mains, and they scoop their own completely plant-based ice creams.”
