Tesco Doubles Vegetarian & Vegan Festive Centerpiece Options

In an effort to keep up with changing diets and demand, UK supermarket chain Tesco is now offering its biggest ever meat-free Christmas range.
Food Ingredients First writes:
“As the number of vegans and vegetarians continues to rise alongside the growing number of people looking to cut down on meat and dairy in general, the UK supermarket has responded by expanding its festive offerings.”
As a result and for the first time ever, the supermarket is now offering two vegan Christmas dinner centerpieces:
“Turmeric Spiced Cauliflower Wellington and a festive Pecan and Peanut Roast with maple-roasted carrot and parsnip.”
Chef Derek Sarno, Tesco’s director of plant-based innovation aiming to keep plant-based foods in the “center stage,” states:
“This year, Tesco’s Christmas campaign celebrates the many ways we come together at Christmas, and with the quality of vegetarian and vegan food now so good there may even be squabbles across the dinner table over who gets what.”
Earlier this year, Tesco pledged to introduce vegan labeling across its own-brand product range.
