by CHLOE is Coming to London
UPDATE #2: New details have finally emerged re: by CHLOE’s London edition! According to Eater London,
“American vegan burger brand By Chloe has at last announced that it will open its first international restaurant on Covent Garden’s Russell Street next Tuesday, 6 February.”
The 70-seater restaurant will offer guests the menu it is already known and loved for, in addition to exclusive menu items referred to as “London by CHLOE” to “mark its arrival in the UK.” Check out some of the signature dishes below:
- Classic fish ‘n’ chips: Crispy tofu replaces fish. The dish will be served with chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce.
- Shepherd’s pie: Ground seitan replaces lamb mince. Accompanied by vegetables, mashed potato and beetroot ketchup.
- Pea and ham soup: No details, other than a certainty that it won’t contain ham.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding: Without butter, but topped with whipped coconut cream.
Mark your calendars!
by CHLOE‘s remarkably rapid expansion is not just taking place in the United States. The casual vegan diner is set to open in the United Kingdom this year, with locations in the Middle East and Europe to follow. According to Bloomberg, the chain will open its “first international outpost in London’s Covent Garden this fall.”
Samantha Wasser, co-founder and creative director of by CHLOE, stated:
“International expansion was always part of our long-term plan for By Chloe. I’d read that London is one of the greatest food scenes in the world; once I visited, I saw what the hype was about. We’ve built a huge following on social media and have fans in multiple countries consistently asking when we’re coming.”
The menu will include the staple foods by CHLOE is known for, including burgers, salads, sandwiches, desserts and smoothies, and the article adds that Wasser is “still considering what the signature U.K. dish will be.”
Earlier this year, the restaurant parted ways with co-founder and chef Chloe Coscarelli, “growing the brand without her involvement.”
UPDATE: Before by CHLOE even opens its doors in London’s Covent Garden (set for this fall), a second UK location has already been secured at One Tower Bridge.
Remember when we said London is a vegan paradise?
