British Supermarket to Debut Plant-Based ‘Bleeding’ No Bull Burger
Executive chef Neil Nugent of Iceland Foods, a British supermarket chain that focuses on frozen foods, has created his own version of a vegan bleeding burger.
According to Harry Wallop of The Sun:
“Called a No Bull burger, it is made of soya protein and coloured with beetroot extract and paprika to make it look meaty and ‘bleed’ like the real thing.”
While Nugent admits it was a “real challenge to get the succulence right,” as it is the supermarket’s “first foray into [its] own-brand vegan,” Wallop described the flavor as “fascinatingly beefy – a very savoury taste.”
