Review of Häagen-Dazs’ Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Non-Dairy Bar

No one was more excited than I was when Häagen-Dazs announced that it had expanded its non-dairy line. My initial review only covered two of the initial four-strong collection, but as you can gather, I was immediately won over.
The four new options (making the non-dairy options come to a total of eight ) are:
- Coconut Caramel Dark Chocolate Non-Dairy Bar: Velvety coconut cream is swirled with ribbons of luscious caramel sauce, then dipped in dark chocolate and finished with a rich, dark chocolate drizzle. It raises the bar for non-dairy indulgence.
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Non-Dairy Bar: Smooth peanut butter is swirled with decadent chocolate fudge then coated in crisp dark chocolate and a dark chocolate drizzle for a playfully pure non-dairy indulgence.
- Coconut Cookies and Crème Non-Dairy TRIO CRISPY LAYERS: Layers of creamy coconut with dark chocolate cookie pieces are complemented by velvety chocolate and sheets of crackly dark chocolate for three times the non-dairy indulgence.
- Crunchy Peanut Butter Non-Dairy TRIO CRISPY LAYERS: Layers of smooth peanut butter brimming with chocolate-covered peanuts are stacked between rich, velvety chocolate and sheets of crispy dark chocolate for a delightfully textured non-dairy experience.
While I would have loved to try a TRIO pint, they did not exist in any of the shops that carried the line–even when I used company’s store locator to track them down. I did eventually spot the Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge Bar, and considering how much I enjoyed the Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge pint, I was happy with my find.
The package comes with three bars and costs $4.49. The individual bars themselves looked a little smaller than ice cream bars I was accustomed to, but as my experience with the pints proved, when it comes to Häagen-Dazs a little goes a long way.
Let’s start with the outer layer: the dark chocolate the ice cream is coated in is so rich and decadent on its own and, when combined with the sweet and salty chocolate fudge and peanut butter ice cream, it really was a match made in heaven. The small(er) size packs a powerful punch, and even those with seemingly insatiable ice cream cravings will be well satisfied.
While I really liked the bars and would definitely buy them again, I do prefer the pint version, if only because it included some crunchy peanuts. This makes me already have high hopes for the TRIO options–I just have to find them!
