Impossible Burger Added to Air New Zealand’s In-Flight Menu
The burger is served with two patties, which are described as “meat that isn’t meat, but which might just be better,” along with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, beetroot relish, smoked Gouda cheese and tomatillo cream.
In-flight customer experience manager Niki Chave stated:
“We’re confident vegetarians, flexitarians and dedicated meat lovers alike will enjoy the delicious taste of the Impossible Burger – but for those who want to stay with the tried and true it will sit alongside our regular selection of menu items prepared by our talented culinary team and consultant chefs.”
With this move, Air New Zealand becomes the first airline in the world to serve the Impossible Burger. It will be available to business class passengers on flights NZ1 and NZ5 from Los Angeles to Auckland through late October. According to The Telegraph, the airline will then be “reviewing the burger’s popularity.”
