Fergie's Latest Music Video Features Vegan Milk Alternatives [VIDEO]
Songs including milk, milkshakes, and milkmen are surprisingly not rare in mainstream music. These songs tend to allude to something else, and if milk is addressed visually in the video, it usually appears to be cow’s milk.
However, in Fergie’s latest music video for her single M.I.L.F. (Moms I’d Like to Follow) Money, the Black Eyed Peas star includes a scene of her as a substitute teacher in a class focused on nutrition. On the chalkboard, one can see plant-based milk alternatives written along with dairy, including almond, coconut, rice, hemp, soy, and the words protein, calcium and calories written alongside of them.
While in the video Fergie is seen pouring milk on herself that looks like the old-fashioned milkman bottles of cow’s milk, the inclusion of the plant-based milks is still significant for two reasons. First, she seems to be promoting the idea that plant-based milk can be just as nutrition (if not more) than dairy from animals, and actually has dairy last on the list. Second, she is promoting these milks in a nutrition class, while opting to pour what appears to be cow’s milk on herself-perhaps because it has no place in the human body!
While these are of course just speculations, since Fergie is reported to be following a vegetarian diet, perhaps the singer is considering a complete plant-based switch in the future, and featuring this not-so-subtle scene in her music video will showcase the many dairy substitute options available to a very wide audience!
