For the Love of Veggies: Five Ways to Spread the Veggie Word!
You’ve had an epiphany regarding food, animals and how you eat. It’s changed you to the core and you couldn’t be happier. This happiness has you wanting to get involved and share the new things you’ve learned about plant-based living…however, if you’re anything like me, picketing or angry confrontation isn’t for you. Thankfully, there’s more than one way to bake a vegan cake.
Here are five non-confrontational ways to get a veg conversation started:
1. Wear your feelings, literally.
Wearing a fun tee-shirt not only makes a fashion statement, it can open up conversations about living a veg lifestyle. There are plenty of veg statement tee’s out there to buy, you just have to Google them. Can’t find any you like? No worries, it doesn’t cost much to make your own statement tee-shirt.

2. Be the hostess with the mostest:
Invite your non-veg friends over for a night of plant based delights! Show them how yummy and healthy a veg lifestyle can be. Make sure to really pull out all the stops, this is no night to hold back on vegan dessert goodness! And don’t forget the cheese! Vegan cheese, that is.

3. Invite your friends out to dinner, on you:
What if you don’t enjoy cooking? No problem! An alternative to cooking a meal is to take them out to an all veg restaurant and cover the bill. Who would say no to a free meal? During dinner you could talk about your love of plant-based cooking and perhaps that will lead to questions that you’ll no doubt be eager and happy to answer!

4.Participate in a food event:
Do you love to cook? Does cooking for a crowd sound exciting? Why not participate in a local food festival…veggie style! Is there a chili cook-off going on? Show ’em how it’s done using plant-based ingriedients! Is there a cookie bake off? Bake it vegan! A great opportunity to expose a variety of people who wouldn’t normally eat plant-based to some yummy veg options. Don’t forget to have plenty of recipe cards available to hand out!

5. Hand out coupons for free/discounted veg item:
Who doesn’t love free & discounted items? The final idea for spreading some veg-goodness is to write to a vegan company and ask for coupons to hand out. Give them to friends, family or strangers! Make sure it’s an item you’ve tried and love, that way you can sincerely recommend eating or using it!
