International Vegan Flag Designed & Launched
On June 9, 2017, the international vegan flag was unveiled and launched, which was designed by Gad V Hakimi “with the help of few dear activists and designers who helped to polish the final design.”
According to the website, Vegan Flag International, this initiative grew out of a need to examine “what form of branding would encompass the entire concept of veganism” and was necessary because “every important movement in history has a powerful and memorable flag.” The design is explained as follows:
“As vegans it is our duty to protect all the animals wherever they are: land, sea and air. We chose the colours that represents these values: White- light, goodness, success, beginning. Green- land, life, nature, energy, harmony. Blue- sky, sea, faith, truth, heaven.”
The flag is open source, and therefore available so everyone can “use it, share it, print it, and even sell it.” You can view the gallery and order or download the flag on the website, and join the public Facebook page here.
